Catullus 109

Catullus 109 is the first poem I read where Catullus isn't near Lesbia and filling us in on what she is doing but this poem is just Catullus strictly talking to himself about Lesbia and his love for her. I thought out of the four Catullus poems I read this poem wasn't as interesting. The past poems Catullus has been a creeper and watching Lesbia from a far. This poem Catullus is begging the whole poem about how he wants to be with Lesbia and begs the Gods to make it so that Lesbia can promise the truth and eternal friendship for the two of them together. I think this is just Catullus writting his dreams down in a poem and wish his dream will come true at some point in his life. I guess we will have to keep reading his poems and see if his wish will come true.....
